PARANG MANIK FRAME

"Parang" is the traditional heritage machete of the Ibans in Sarawak. Parang, or better known as the machete, was a weapon for self-defence during the colonial era in the old days. After the Second World War, it was used by the Ibans to carry out daily activities. This Parang has a Borneo Dayak-motivated engraving that has a thousand and one meanings. Meanwhile, Parang nowadays can be used as a home ornament, by placing it in the frame, decorating the walls of the house makes the home décor look more antique. This machete cover is made of hand-woven beads that are inspired by a Borneo pattern.
