Ajat Rotan
Ajar Kawang Rotan
Ajar Kawang Rotan is a traditional basketry technique employed by the Penan ethnic group, one of the Malaysian state of Sarawak's indigenous communities. Weaving rotan (rattan) strips into a basket or bag is the technique. The weaving of a basket or bag begins with the selection of the appropriate sort of rotan, which is obtained from the trees surrounding the Penan villages.
